A-H students to host walk-a-thon, BBQ

HEBRON – The Alden-Hebron High School Student Council will host a walk-a-thon and barbecue to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 6. The walk will start at noon at Alden-Hebron High School, 9604 Illinois St. Proceeds from the walk will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to directly benefit people in the McHenry County area.

Proceeds from the barbecue will support the student council.

Registration costs $15 a person. Children under 5 years old may participate for free.

Advance registration is requested and has begun with high school counselor Karen Sommerfeldt. Participants can register by emailing her at ksommerfeldt@alden-hebron.org. The deadline to register is April 25.

Check-in on the day of the walk is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The walking will be from noon to 3 p.m., with the barbecue to follow.
