Bull Valley Garden Club to host garden walk July 14
BULL VALLEY – The Bull Valley Garden Club will conduct its once-a-decade garden walk, "Bull Valley's Garden Treasures," from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 14.
Proceeds from the walk will be used for the club's civic projects.
The walk will feature six beautiful country gardens, and every garden will be labeled and mapped. Guides will be available to answer questions and share secrets, and experts will discuss native plantings, beekeeping, attracting birds and butterflies, and preserving natural landscapes for future generations.
Tickets cost $20 without lunch or $30 with lunch if checks are received by July 9.
Among beneficiaries of the garden club's walk are horticulture students at McHenry County College; the Woodstock Rotary Garden, which contributes produce to the Woodstock Food Pantry; Friends of the Woodstock Library for the purchase of gardening books; The Land Conservancy's Oak Tree Restoration Project; garden therapy at Valley Hi Nursing Home; the pediatric program for Hospice of Northeastern Illinois; a juniors program for young gardeners in Woodstock schools; the Boone Creek Watershed Alliance; and the Stickney House Foundation for the renovation of the building.

Tickets may be purchased at Countryside Nursery, 5301 E Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake; Harms Farm, 4727 W. Crystal Lake Road, McHenry; and Woodstock Farm and Lawn, 2020 S. Route 47, Woodstock.
Tickets may be purchased for $25 the day of the Walk at Woodstock Farm and Lawn or Kimball and Bean Antiques, 3606 S. Country Club Road, Woodstock.
