Thomas the Tank Engine to visit Union museum

UNION – Thomas the Tank Engine will pull into the Illinois Railway Museum for “Day Out with Thomas: Mystery on the Rails Tour 2012.” 

The day offers little engineers and their families the opportunity to take a 20-minute ride with a 15-ton replica of Thomas the Tank Engine.

There also will be games and activities featuring a mystery element at the event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 17, 18, 19, 25 and 26 at the railway museum, 7000 Olson Road, Union.

Children can meet Sir Topham Hatt, controller of the railway, and visit a Thomas and Friends Imagination Station featuring temporary tattoos, hands-on arts and crafts, train tables and coloring sheets.

There will be storytelling, video viewing, music, magic shows, mini-golf, clowns, an operating model railroad and an inflatable bouncy castle.
