Hampshire dance classes set to begin Sept. 13

HAMPSHIRE – Dreams Dance Academy will start its fall session Sept. 13 at the Hampshire Township Park District. Dreams Dance Academy, a “traveling” dance studio, was started by Jenny O’Brien this year to bring a dance program to community centers, fitness studios and day cares that do not offer dance programs.

Dreams Dance Academy offers youth dance classes for ages 2 ˝ and older. Classes include ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and musical theater.

The academy will hold classes Thursdays at the Hampshire Township Park District, 309 South Ave., Hampshire. The cost ranges from $125 to $150 for a 15-week session. Tiny Dreamers, for children ages 2˝ to 3˝, runs from 3:30 to 4 p.m. and costs $125 for residents and $135 for nonresidents. Pre-ballet, for children 3 to 5, runs from 4 to 4:45 p.m. and costs $135 for residents and $145 for nonresidents. Jazz and tap for children 5 to 7 runs from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. and costs $135 for residents and $145 for nonresidents. Jazz for ages 7 to 10 runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and costs $140 for residents and $150 for nonresidents.
