Lakemoor taps new police chief

LAKEMOOR – A longtime Lake County Sheriff’s Office employee has been named the new police chief in Lakemoor.

David Godlewski will lead the Lakemoor Police Department after spending 25 years in Lake County, most recently as chief of operations. He retired from that position in May.

“Chief Godlewski brings a wealth of operational experience to the Lakemoor Police Department and a new and fresh perspective,” Village President Todd Weihofen said in a news release.

Godlewski takes over for former Chief William Kushner, who resigned earlier this month after being selected as the new police chief in Des Plaines.

Godlewski also served as a highway patrol deputy, detective, sergeant, lieutenant, deputy chief and chief during his tenure at the sheriff’s office.
