Lake in the Hills to discuss property tax levy

LAKE IN THE HILLS – The village expects to bring in 1.2 percent less in property tax dollars next year.

The estimated 2012 levy of $5.49 million is 1.2 percent less than last year’s levy of $5.56 million, according to a memo from Finance Director Peter Stefan to Village Board members.

Final tax rates won’t be determined until property values are set in the spring.

The village’s Committee of the Whole is scheduled to discuss the levy at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Village Hall at 600 Harvest Gate.
