Seat belts high on list for Lake in the Hills police

LAKE IN THE HILLS – Travelers this Thanksgiving should buckle up or risk a ticket, Lake in the Hills police said.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department will participate in the state’s “Click It or Ticket” campaign over the holiday and will be out in force, according to a news release.

Under a law that went into effect Jan. 1, drivers and passengers must wear seat belts or face a minimum $25 fine. Some exceptions, including taxi passengers, apply.
