First wins for Rittorno, Pierce help Johnsburg wrestlers

JOHNSBURG – Anthony Rittorno and Wesley Pierce earned their first varsity wins Thursday and helped Johnsburg defeat Woodstock North, 41-34, in a Fox Valley Conference Fox Division wrestling win.

Rittorno (132 pounds) earned a 12-3 major decision, and Pierce (170) had one of three pins for the Skyhawks. Brian McKay (126) and Christian Nugent (220) also had falls for Johnsburg.

The Thunder won six of the 14 matches but gave up forfeits at 195 and 285. Jake Fiorito (106), Derek Doyen (113), Ruger Walsh (138), Rod Davis (152) and Dillon Kline (160) all had falls for Woodstock North.

McHenry 68, Dundee-Crown 3: At McHenry, the Warriors recorded eight pins in their FVC Valley win.

Britches Sikula (106), Robbie Duh (120), Mike Infelise (126), Wade Lardy (152), Cam Pait (160), Luke Krauser (195), Ryan Wykes (220) and Angel Hernandez (285) all had falls for McHenry (5-0, 1-0).

Huntley 52, Prairie Ridge 18: At Crystal Lake, Brandon Meyer (126), Jon Walker (138) and Trevor Symbal (145) all had falls for the Red Raiders.

Chase Rea (152) and Connor Bos (220) had pins for the Wolves.

Winnebago 48, Richmond-Burton 23: At Winnebago, Grant Sutton (126) and Cameron Kennedy (132) each had falls for the Rockets, with Garrett Sutton (152) recording a technical fall in 3:31 in a Big Northern Conference crossover loss.

Harvard Quadrangular: At Harvard, the Hornets (5-1) defeated Oregon, 49-25, Rockford Lutheran, 38-23, and North Boone, 69-10, in BNC wins.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Cornerstone 82, Faith Lutheran 37: At Crystal Lake, Jake Larson, Andrew Tieman and Ben Boyer all had seven points to lead the Saints (0-5) in the loss.

BOYS BOWLING

McHenry 2,990, Johnsburg 2,862: At Raymond’s Bowl in Johnsburg, Paul Colomer and Kody Hudjera each had a high game of 224 for the Warriors (4-1) in their win.

Joe Kass had a high game of 235 for the Skyhawks, with Joe Flack adding a 225 game.

GIRLS BOWLING

Huntley 2,614, Johnsburg 1,983: At Raymond’s Bowl in Johnsburg, Amy Antczak led the Red Raiders with a 649 series and a game high of 215, with Megan Sass adding a 538 series.

Kylie Luszcz led the Skyhawks with a 481 series and a high game of 201.

Grayslake North 2,690, Woodstock co-op 2,259: At Grayslake, Paige Busch led Woodstock co-op with a 496 series and a high game of 187, with Josie Lindsey-Robbins adding a high game of 172.
