Johnsburg library to hold spa gifts workshop

The Johnsburg Public Library has scheduled two workshops for people to make environmentally-friendly spa gifts.

In the hands-on workshops, participants will make and package products suitable for holiday gift-giving. All materials, recipes and packaging will be provided, the library said in a news release.

The workshop will be presented by Eleanor Reily Handmade Soaps, which uses natural, chemical-free spa quality beauty products.

A session at 2 p.m. Friday will be for sixth- through 12th-graders. Participants will make chocolate kiss lip gloss, natural hand sanitizer, fizzing foot soak and sweet spice body polish.

At 2 p.m. Saturday, adults will be able to make soothing oatmeal bath, lavender-mint sachets, mineral salt hand and foot scrub and nail and cuticle oil.

Advance registration is required. People can register at www.johnsburglibrary.org, call the library at 815-344-0077 or stop by at 3000 N. Johnsburg Road.
