Fundraiser to aid Literacy Connection

ELGIN – The Literacy Connection, a nonprofit organization that provides adult and family literacy programs, has many ways the community can make a charitable contribution – financial or by volunteering.

One way is to make a purchase today at one of three Panera cafés.

A percentage from sales between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. will be donated to The Literacy Connection in the organization’s first Panera Café Fundraiser – Some Knead Some Give. Participating Panera cafés are 2484 N. Randall Road in Elgin; 100 W. Higgins in South Barrington; and 322 Randall Road in South Elgin.

Information and fliers are available on The Literacy Connection’s homepage at www.elginliteracy.org.

Another way to help is a direct donation, online at www.elginliteracy.org or by mail to The Literacy Connection, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin, IL 60120.

All donations are tax deductible.

Information on how to become an adult literacy tutor, including upcoming dates for tutor orientations, is available at the organization’s website or by emailing info@elginliteracy.org or call 847-742-6565.

The Literacy Connection, an affiliate of ProLiteracy, serves 16 communities in the Elgin area, including Algonquin, Carpentersville, Cary, East Dundee, West Dundee, Hampshire, Huntley and Lake in the Hills.
