Injury ends Bush's season

Michael Bush is the latest Bears player whose season has ended because of an injury.

The Bears placed Bush on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday because of a lingering rib injury that kept him off of the field Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. To replace Bush, the Bears re-signed running back Kahlil Bell for the second time this season.

Bush, 28, rushed for 411 yards and five touchdowns in his first season with the Bears. He started in Week 3 against the St. Louis Rams in place of injured No. 1 running back Matt Forte, and he carried the ball 18 times for 55 yards and a touchdown during that game.

By re-signing Bell, the Bears turned to a familiar face instead of another free-agent running back who would have had to spend time learning Mike Tice's offense. Bell rushed 12 times for 32 yards during his previous stint with the team this season, and he has rushed for 589 yards in 22 career games with the Bears.

The Bears (8-6) will visit the Arizona Cardinals (5-9) on Sunday.
