WONDER LAKE – A garage fire caused an estimated $35,000 in damage Sunday night.

About 7:30 p.m., the Wonder Lake Fire Protection District responded to a fire at the 7500 block of East Northwood Drive.

“At the scene, firefighters saw heavy flames from the exterior of the house,” Wonder Lake Fire Protection District Lt. Ron Herman said.

There were no reported injuries. The house is still habitable, Herman said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Most of the flames were outside on the roof of the garage, he said.

The fire protection district received assistance from Hebron, Spring Grove, Richmond, Woodstock and McHenry.
