CRYSTAL LAKE – Reduce stress and find peace in life with two separate healing sound classes offered by McHenry County College’s Continuing Education Department this month – “Intro to Tibetan Singing Bowls: Ancient Instrument of Healing and Peace” and “Tibetan Singing Bowls: Healing Sound Circle.”

Both classes will meet in Room C106 at McHenry County College, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

• “Intro to Tibetan Singing Bowls: Ancient Instrument of Healing and Peace” features a fascinating history of these bowls and why they have become internationally recognized as potent tools for meditation and healing. A “restorative sound massage” is included, and participants may sit in a chair or bring a mat, blanket and pillows to lie down on the floor.

This class takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The cost is $20. Use course ID: NHE S02 002 when registering.

• The “Tibetan Singing Bowls: Healing Sound Circle” class features hands-on experience in learning to play the bowls and instruction on “sounding” with each other’s voices – not to be confused with singing.

Participants will create an energetic circle, fill it with the sounds of the bowls and each other’s voices and come away refreshed and restored.

This class also includes a “restorative sound massage.” Participants can sit in a chair or bring a mat, blanket and pillows to lie down on the floor.

This course meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 26. The cost is $20. Use course ID: NHE S03 002 when registering.
