Man sentenced 5 years for Algonquin bank robbery
ROCKFORD – A Round Lake Beach man was sentenced Wednesday to more than five years in prison for robbing an Algonquin bank.
Mohammed Nusrath Ali Khan, 42, was sentenced to 62 months in prison and was ordered to pay $5,211 in restitution to Fifth Third Bank.
On May 23, Khan went into the Fifth Third Bank on Randall Road and approached a teller with a note to demand money. Khan had a BB gun concealed in his pants under his shirt.
In the note, Khan said he would shoot the teller if she made a scene, activated alarms or gave him dye packs. After receiving $5,211, Khan walked out of the bank. He was arrested June 8 by Skokie Police.
In November, Khan pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery.
