Crystal Lake police to conduct roadside checks

CRYSTAL LAKE – The police department will conduct roadside safety checks in conjunction with the Illinois State Police.

The joint effort will be conducted during the evening hours Friday.

Officers will be watching for motorists who are driving under the influence, driving with open alcoholic beverages, operating unsafe vehicles or driving with suspended or revoked driver’s licenses.

Alcohol and drug impairment remains a significant factor in more than 40 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois, the Crystal Lake Police Department said in a news release.
