MCCD to host Spring Break Camp

WOODSTOCK – The McHenry County Conservation District’s Spring Break Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 26 through 28 at Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Road, Ringwood.

Over three days, campers ages 8 to 11 will learn, play and explore in Glacial Park.

Day 1 is Outdoor Olympics Day, where campers will participate in various outdoor recreation activities that test their physical, problem-solving and team-building skills.

Day 2 is Nature Exploration Day, where campers will hike the prairies, woodlands and wetlands and learn about the local habitats and their importance to wildlife.

Day 3 is Outdoor Survival Skills Day, where campers will test their outdoor cooking and shelter-building skills.

Registration, fee and completed camper information paperwork is required by March 15.

The cost is $55 for county residents and $68 for nonresidents.

Registration is accepted online at www.mccdistrict.org, by phone at 815-479-5779, and by mail or walk-in at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road in Crystal Lake.
