WOODSTOCK – A woman who robbed a Marengo gas station with a BB gun in October 2011, the investigation of which also led to sexual abuse charges, was sentenced  Thursday to six months in jail.

Christina E. Sutter, 28, of Marengo, pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and one count of criminal sexual abuse. In addition to the jail time, she must complete four years of probation and register as a sex offender for 10 years.

Sutter was given credit for about 43 days already served in custody. The remaining time must be served in its entirety; she will not receive day-for-day credit.

According to police, Sutter went into the Mobil gas station on Grant Highway in Marengo and demanded cigarettes and cash.

She ended up leaving on foot with cigarettes, but no money.

Assistant Public Defender Kim Messer said that the abuse victim, who was in her teens, may have ended up with some of the stolen cigarettes.

Sutter performed a sex act on the girl, who was underage and unable to provide knowing consent, Assistant State’s Attorney Sharyl Eisenstein said.

Sutter’s then-boyfriend, Keith Schott, also faced sex charges, but not robbery. He pleaded guilty in December to criminal sexual abuse. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail as well as 44 days of periodic imprisonment.
