Better morals

To the Editor:

I would like to comment on the difficulty of our state and country paying bills and pensions for us. I think it is time for the people who we vote for to be true leaders and actually lead by example.

I haven’t heard or read about any of them taking pay cuts or cutting their retirement. Maybe it is time we honestly do all stick together.

The tollway was supposed to be paid for a few years after it was built in the early 1960s. I think it has passed that deadline.

The lottery started here in the state about 1983. The profits were supposed to go to roads and our schools.

Don’t you think that with higher taxes and these two profitmakers, we should be in better shape financially?

So I think our voted employees should do what they all want us to do. Cut their salaries and pensions, then they might be able to solve some of our problems.

I am a hardworking IBOFW employee. I live here and pay my fair share of taxes.

Letting illegal immigrants live more than one family in a single-family home is not helping, either. Don’t see too much being done with that.

I sure hope that the leaders of this country change their money-hungry thoughts to thoughts of better morals.
