Last year, the White Sox and Cubs ranked 11th and 15th, respectively, in the big leagues when it came to salaries. The Sox had a payroll of $96.9 million while the Cubs came in at $88.1 million.

In case you wondered what your favorite Chicago big leaguer will make this year, here's a breakdown, according to the Associated Press. Cubs veteran leftfielder Alfonso Soriano is the city's top-paid player at $19 million while Sox No. 2 starter Jake Peavy tops the Sox salary list at $16.1 million.
