Be a school
To the Editor:
Why doesn’t McHenry County College concentrate on being a school. It is a community college, and we certainly don’t need all the frills including the proposed Taj Mahal.
Don’t need the concrete pads or to decorate the front of the school.
Don’t need your pulling statistics out of the blue sky in an attempt to prove the county growth projections and other matters.
Don’t need a construction firm to do a feasibility study. It was in error, so there was a redo at extra cost. May a firm that does feasibility studies bid on your proposed future construction?
Don’t need a garden with an underground sprinkling system.
Don’t need a health club. Whose brilliant idea was that? Cost $39 a month. Is it a profitable venture and will your fees be competitive with the 20 other clubs nearby? You now have to charge more. I guess that more employment is good for the county. If the clubs fails financially, will it become a perk for staff and students?
Don’t need you to attempt to violate the Crystal Lake watershed. Period.
I double-dare you to go to a referendum. It will sink faster than a vessel in the cardboard boat regatta.
