Cary Park District honors volunteers

The Cary Park District Board on Thursday honored seven people for their volunteer work for providing "exceptional recreation, parks and open space opportunities for residents of the district," it said in a news release.

Those honored were Tom Layshock, of Cary Grove Baseball and Softball, Malinda Bacchi, who volunteers at the park district's senior center, Chris Ladd, of Cary Junior Football, Bill Pickett, who is a community volunteer, Rob Fankhauser, of the Cary Soccer Association, Kristen Fadden, a Cary Barracuda Swim Team volunteer, and David Raica, who volunteers in the park district.
