Incumbent, newcomers win Huntley Village Board spots

HUNTLEY – Challenger Jay Kadakia was the lone losing candidate in the race for three trustee spots on the Huntley Board on Tuesday, while newcomer Ronda Goldman was the lead vote-getter.

Goldman captured 1,658 votes out of 6,220 total ballots cast in the trustee race that covered both McHenry and Kane counties, according to unofficial results from both county clerks. Incumbent John Piwko secured a third consecutive term, finishing second with 1,592 votes.

Challenger J.R. Westberg redeemed himself, finishing third with 1,544 votes, after he lost a first-time trustee bid in 2009.

Kadakia captured 1,426 votes, but it wasn't enough for the former village trustee. The Tuesday election night loss also comes after Kadakia unsuccessfully ran for McHenry County Board in November.

Incumbent Ron Hahn decided not to seek re-election. Incumbent Pam Fender also decided against an re-election bid to pursue the Grafton Township supervisor race. But she lost that effort to Independent Jim Kearns.
