High price to pay

OK, call me a hypocrite, but regarding the March 28 letter, “Appropriate call letters for Walsh’s radio program, “attack the actual problem. Don’t attack the messenger.

Regarding the “Another View” editorial, “Retirement daunting,” and the statement “most workers are saving too little to retire.” Have they been saving too little or has the price of everything been driven out of reach? Look at the price in grocery stores.
Two things have happened. Price goes up or quantity goes down. Taxes go up and quantity goes down. Do you get anything for your high taxes? I pay over three times the amount my neighbor does. Am I going to get three times the police protection or three times the fire trucks? No.
Cost of living in Illinois is out of control, and what is being done about it? As usual, nothing.
Illinois has the highest crime in Chicago, highest gas prices, more state politicians in prison. We’re No. 1. Something to be proud of. Not.
