Author to visit River East Public Library

LAKEMOOR – The Book Groups at the River East Public Library, 813 W. Route 120, will have a special event at 7 p.m. May 21 as author Melissa Brown visits to talk about her books “Bouquet Toss” and “Champagne Toast.”

Brown is a local author, and she will share excerpts from her new book, “Picturing Perfect,” which will be released June 12.

Registration is required and must be done by May 17. To register, call the library at 815-385-6303.

The Books and Biscuits group meets at 10 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. On Wednesday, the group will discuss “Wuthering Heights” by Emily Bronte. On June 11, the group will discuss “Light Between the Oceans” by M.L. Stedman.

The Society of Page Turners group meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month. This month, the group will discuss “Bouquet Toss” and “Champagne Toast” by Melissa Brown. In June, the group will discuss “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” by Rachel Joyce.

The Realistic Readers nonfiction group meets at 10:30 a.m. the last Wednesday of the month. This month, the group will discuss “Murder in McHenry” by Paul Scharff. The June discussion will be of “Along the Way: The Journey of a Father and Son” by Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez.
