McHenry Parks and Rec offers camp programs

McHENRY – The McHenry Parks and Recreation Department is offering summer camp programs starting in June.

Camp staff provides a safe and friendly atmosphere where children can make new friends and enjoy a variety of activities. Campers will participate in group games, arts and crafts, sports activities and more.

Kiddie Kamp is for children ages 4 to 5 and will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 11 through June 27, at Petersen Park, 4300 Petersen Park Road. The cost is $48 for residents and $58 for nonresidents. A July session also is available.

Day Camp is for children ages 6 to 11 and will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 3 through June 14, at Knox Park, 330 S. Knox Drive, and Petersen Park, 4300 Petersen Park Road.

Camp includes a field trip, pizza party and swimming at the pool and beach.

The cost is $180 for residents and $190 for nonresidents. Before and After Camp also is available for additional fees. Two-week sessions are available through Aug. 9.

Registration is accepted in person, by mail, online or by fax at the McHenry Parks and Recreation Department office, 333 S. Green St. in McHenry.
