ST. LOUIS (AP) — An HIV-infected teacher's aide in a southwestern Illinois high school's special-needs classroom is accused of exposing a student to the AIDS-causing virus during molestations.

Thirty-five-year-old Cahokia High School employee Mario Hunt was jailed Tuesday on felony charges of criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and transmitting HIV. The criminal complaint alleges the misconduct took place in 2011, when the alleged victim was 17.

Cahokia Police Lt. Dennis Plew says the alleged molestation happened on school grounds, and that the teenager, now 19, is still a student.

Plew couldn't say whether the teenager has been tested for HIV. Plew adds that a case involving Hunt and another student is being investigated.

Hunt doesn't have a listed home telephone number, and online court records don't show whether he has an attorney.
