'Kids Wear Lids' bike safety event set in Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE – McHenry County Conservation District’s Safe Kids Wear Lids annual bike safety clinic will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Prairie Trail, Main Street Parking Lot – North.

Staff will perform bike inspections, discuss safety tips for bike riding and go over the rules of the road. Children can get their helmets checked for a safe fit.

Those who don’t have a helmet will be fitted and given a free helmet to take home.

This event is for children ages 5 to 12 accompanied by an adult.

The program is free, but advance registration is required and is accepted online at www.mccdistirct.org, by phone at 815-479-5779 and by mail or walk-in at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road in Crystal Lake.
