LAKEMOOR – More than a mile of Lakemoor roads will be resurfaced this fall, if all goes as planned.

The Lakemoor Village Board approved a list of 10 roads totaling just more than 6,000 feet to be put out to bid at its meeting Thursday evening.

Once the bids come in and the paperwork is completed by the state, the village can start construction, Village Clerk Bonnie Sikora said. The village is hoping to start in the fall.

The project is expected to cost about $340,000 and will be paid for using motor-fuel tax dollars, according to village documents.

The longest section to be improved is just more than 2,000 feet of Highland Drive, from Valley View Drive to Wegner Road.

The list also includes Pine Grove Road from Lakeview Drive to about Northlake Road; the length of Maplewood Drive; Rosedale Drive and Hollywood Terrace, both from Riverside Drive to Sunnyside Road; Sheridan Road from Route 120 to Lily Lake Parkway; Herbert Road north of West Sheridan Road; 70 feet of both West Sheridan Road and Barbara Lane east of Lily Lake Road; and 460 feet of Concrete Drive west of Fox Lake Road.

The village’s roads were ranked based on need, and the most in need of repair were done last year, Village President Todd Weihofen said.

This year’s picks continue that process.
