Huntley reschedules Fourth of July fireworks show

Ongoing construction on Huntley's interchange project at Route 47 and Interstate 90, and other nearby road work, forced officials to reschedule the village's Fourth of July fireworks show.

The annual fireworks show that celebrates the United States' independence will now take place nearly two months later on Saturday, August 31 during Labor Day weekend. Officials said in a news release that the interchange construction and ongoing work along Freeman Road caused officials to reschedule the event.

All other regularly scheduled Fourth of July weekend events, including the Huntley Outlet Center's Fourth of July summer sale and the All-American Family Fun Day at the Farmer's Market, will go on as planned.
