Still time to register for Cary library summer reading program

Published: Tuesday, June 25, 2013 11:38 p.m. CDT

CARY – The Cary Area Public Library reminds patrons of all ages they still can register for Summer Reading through July 17. The “reading” part of Summer Reading will end July 31.

In other words, Cary library cardholders who have not yet registered for Summer Reading (“Have Book, Will Travel!”) will have until 9 p.m. July 17 (closing) to do so.

They then will have two weeks to complete their reading (as will others who already are registered) by closing July 31.

No reading logs will be collected after that date; only completed logs turned in by closing July 31 will be entered into the grand prize drawing. Winners will be notified by phone during the first week of August.

If participants complete and hand in one reading log, they are eligible to earn additional entries into the grand prize drawing by requesting a “second chance” log to complete. There is no limit to the amount of “second chance” entries (work on one at a time, hand it in, request another), but all must be completed by closing July 31.

Questions can be referred to library staff during regular hours at 847-639-4210.
