LAKE IN THE HILLS – The village on Friday plans to launch its new website, which it says is more convenient and user-friendly.

The new site will have improved search capabilities, calendars for events and meetings, a listing of parks and their amenities, an ability to submit public records requests online, social media connections, important documents and forms, and drop-down menus for each department, among other things.

Village department heads worked with Aha Consulting of Lake Oswego, Ore., over three months to build the new website.

The new site cost $12,000 to set up, Assistant Village Administrator Shannon Andrews said.

"We wanted to present a fresh look and feel to the site, incorporate new features websites are designed with these days that allow for ease of navigation, [and] residents to access information they're looking for quickly," Andrews said.
