Police: 2 dead, 2 injured in Rockford shootings

ROCKFORD — Police in Rockford are investigating after a shooting killed two men and left two others injured.

Authorities say the shootings took place Tuesday evening.

WREX-TV says the men who died were 17 and 33. And the Rockford Register Star says one of the men who was injured was shot in the elbow. The other was grazed by a bullet.

Police Lt. Marc Welsh told the newspaper that they didn't believe the shootings were related to other recent violence in the northern Illinois community. One person died and another was injured during a drive-by shooting on Monday.

WREX says authorities are searching for a teenager for Tuesday's shootings.
