Headliners announced for Blast on the Beach

CRYSTAL LAKE – A nationally acclaimed variety performer and a tribute band to 80s rock groups will headline Blast on the Beach.

Crystal Lake Park District announced Circus Boy Bobby Hunt and tribute band Lounge Puppets would perform at the annual BMO Harris/Crystal Lake Park District Blast on the Beach event Aug. 10. at Crystal Lake Main Beach on 300 Lakeshore Drive.

Circus Boy Bobby Hunt, who has been featured in Ripley's Believe It Or Not and Ringling Bros. Circus, will take the main stage from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. to perform his award-winning mix of family friendly comedy and stunts. Lounge Puppets will close the night from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. with its throwback presentation of the leather, hair and attitude that made 80's rock bands fan favorites.

In addition to the main performers, Blast on the Beach features a Kids Fun Fair with more than 20 games and activities, a craft fair, a treasure hunt with real gold coins and other prizes buried in the beach, a bags tournament for cash prizes, a beer and wine garden and food vendors from local restaurants.
