JOHNSBURG – Traffic on Johnsburg Road will be shifted a day earlier than expected.

Westbound traffic will be shifted to the new pavement on the south side of Johnsburg Road. Construction signs and new pavement markings will be placed Friday morning.

Eastbound traffic on Johnsburg Road will continue to be rerouted along Route 31 to Route 120 to Chapel Hill Road.

The work is part of the ongoing effort to widen Johnsburg Road from Route 31 to just west of the St. Johns Avenue and Chapel Hill Road intersection to three lanes with one lane in each direction and a center lane for turning.

Traffic signals also will be installed at Riverside Drive and Spring Grove Road, and the hills west of Riverside Drive have been lowered to improve driver visibility.
