Police looking for two men who robbed Crystal Lake business

CRYSTAL LAKE – Two men are on the loose after reportedly robbing a Crystal Lake business Wednesday morning.

Around 9:45 a.m. two men entered Servitax on 459 S. Virginia St. “by threat of force with an implied weapon,” according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department. They stole an undermined amount of money and several cell phones from an employee.

The employee was not injured, and an actual weapon was never seen, the release said.

The suspects fled the scene on foot. One of the male suspects was described as being Hispanic, approximately 5-foot-five inches tall, and has dark hair. He was wearing a red t-shirt a blue jeans.

The description of the second suspect was not available.

The event is being actively investigated by Crystal Lake police as an aggravated robbery. Authorities are requesting that anyone with information regarding the case to contact the Crystal Lake Police Department at 815-356-3620. Tips can also be texted anonymously to “TIP411” (847411) with the keyword “TIPCLPD” within the text message.

Police also said those with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-762-STOP. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and filing of criminal charges against offenders, the release said.
