Spring Grove man charged with abusing child
RICHMOND – A Spring Grove man was charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of aggravated assault of a police officer.
John W. Lord, 41, of 2910 Tahoe Lane, Spring Grove, was arrested by Richmond police on July 18 and subsequently indicted by a grand jury, according to a news release.
According to police, the abuse, which involved a child, occurred while Lord was living in Richmond, from 2004 to 2008.
Richmond Officer Dave Brynes declined to give any details beyond the fact that the child knew Lord and that it was not a random crime.
During police interviews, Lord became “combative” and assaulted a Richmond investigator, the release said.
Bail was set at $50,000, and Lord was released after posting bond.
