McHenry Public Library looks for new trustees

Published: Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 10:22 a.m. CDT

McHENRY – The McHenry Public Library District is looking to fill two vacancies on its board of trustees.

Applications are available at the library's checkout desk and should be returned to Executive Director Jim Scholtz by Oct. 1, according to a news release. The board will review the applications at its Oct. 15 meeting.

Trustees must live in the district and be registered voters.

The board, which meets monthly, is responsible for hiring and evaluating the library director, establishing library policies, securing adequate funding, approving the budget, and developing the library's long-term plan.

Appointees would complete the remainder of the trustees' six-year term if they receive voter approval at the next municipal election in April 2015, Scholtz said.
