Cooney joins Golden Eagle Bank board

WOODSTOCK – Golden Eagle Community Bank recently appointed Kent Cooney to its board of directors.

Cooney is a certified public accountant and has been serving as a director of Chicago Rivet & Manufacturing Co. in Naperville since 2004. Additionally, he has held the position of CFO of Belton Chalet in West Glacier, Mont., since 1997 and is the general partner and business consultant with KHC LLP in Woodstock.  

Cooney served as board chairman and director of Harris Bank-Woodstock from 1997 to 2009. He practiced as a CPA, manager and partner with McGladrey & Pullen from 1976 to 1997. Cooney is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Cooney has been involved with many community organizations in Woodstock and McHenry County, including the McHenry County Community Foundation, Woodstock and McHenry Area Chambers of Commerce and the McHenry County Economic Development Corp.

“Our board is very pleased with the addition of Kent Cooney as a director of our bank’s board,” Golden Eagle Community Bank President, CEO and CFO Steve Finzel said in a news release. “His accounting background and previous board experience with Harris Bank, along with his community involvement activities will fit and blend very well within our community bank culture and branding.”
