To the Editor:

The Libertarian Party of Illinois Convention will be held Sept. 20-22 at the Bolingbrook Holiday Inn.

This year’s convention theme is “The Roots of Liberty.”

Famed Austrian economist Robert Murphy will lead a freedom karaoke. This opening event is free and open to the public.

The convention is highlighted with the Saturday night banquet speaker, best-selling author, economist and historian Thomas Woods. He is the author of the New York Times best-seller “The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History,” and has appeared on numerous TV outlets and hundreds of radio programs, including NPR.

Mary Ruwart, author of “Healing our World,” will be the keynote speaker Saturday morning, discussing “Why Liberty is the Only Solution to the Health Care Crisis.”

Saturday afternoon will feature a debate on foreign policy that will include vice chairman of the Libertarian National Committee and recent candidate for the Libertarian nomination for president R. Lee Wrights. The current status of the Syrian conflict and turmoil in Egypt frame the debate topic.

To sign up for the convention or for information, go to the Libertarian Party of Illinois website at www.lpillinois.org.
