Centegra Health System plans free lectures in October

CRYSTAL LAKE – Free physician lectures at Centegra Health System in October encourage individuals to be proactive about their health.

• Cancer survivors will learn how to increase their strength and energy at a free lecture with Dr. Sandeep Chunduri, an independent oncologist on the medical staff at Centegra. Lynn Griesmaier, nurse and breast health navigator, and Lora Anderson, registered oncology dietitian, will join him as they discuss the Centegra Survivorship Training and Rehabilitation program. The free program will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center – Crystal Lake, 200 E. Congress Parkway.

• People who have osteoporosis have an increased risk of broken bones, especially those of the hip and wrist. Dr. Priyesh Patel, an independent orthopedic surgeon on the medical staff at Centegra, will discuss how to prevent hip and wrist fractures. He will talk about osteoporosis treatments and review the best ways to care for fractures. The free lecture will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center – Huntley, 10450 Algonquin Road.

• Dr. Christopher Lodowsky, an independent urologist on the medical staff at Centegra Health System, will discuss the importance of prostate health and the screenings available to detect problems. He will address the symptoms associated with prostate conditions and treatment options including robotic surgery.
