RINGWOOD – On Oct. 19, Nurturing Necessities will host its third annual Halloween Scavenger Hunt and Race, which will take place throughout Ringwood, Johnsburg and McHenry.

To sign up, participants should pick a team (all team members must ride in the same vehicle) and email the team information to kerri.connor@mchsi.com.

The hunt begins at 5:30 p.m. at Ringwood Village Hall, 6000 Barnard Mill Road. Each team will be given an envelope with a list of clues and tasks to perform. There is a $10 entry fee per team.

Teams must be registered in advance. Registration will be limited to the first 30 teams.

Area businesses are invited to participate by either being a sponsor, a “pit stop” or by donating prizes. To do so or to register a team, call Kerri Connor at 815-353-6064 or email kerri.connor@mchsi.com.

The mission of Nurturing Necessities is to provide gently used clothing, blankets, toys and other baby-related items to low-income families in Lake and McHenry counties to help relieve the financial burden on these families while keeping reusable items out of landfills.
