Woodstock High School supports awareness with 'Block Out Cancer'
WOODSTOCK – Fans can gain free admission to the Woodstock High School volleyball team’s “Block Out Cancer” night Thursday by wearing colors that represent certain forms of the disease.
The team faces Woodstock North High School in a crosstown rivalry match, with the varsity starting at 6:30 p.m. at Woodstock High School, 501 W. South St.
Players will be sporting different colored socks that represent awareness campaigns for certain forms of cancer, and fans that dress in one of the colors will get in free.
Colors such as pink, gray and yellow represent breast cancer, brain cancer and bone cancer, respectively.
Cancer survivors and family members will be honored at the game, and T-shirts and prizes will be given away.
The American Cancer Society also will have a table set up for donations.
