History, travel among topics of Cary library programs
CARY – The Cary Area Public Library, 1606 Three Oaks Road, offers upcoming classes for history buffs, travel fans and lovers of holiday decor.
• Genealogy Interest Group: 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Bring your genealogy, bring questions and bring
a laptop and meet with other family history searchers

• Travelogue – Expeditions to the North and South Poles: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 13. Keith Heger is an experienced adventure travel guide and will share his stories and photographs documenting his expeditions to the North Pole and South Pole. • Fresh Floral Thanksgiving Centerpiece: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 26. Peggy Garvin of Garvin Gardens is back to teach how to create a Thanksgiving centerpiece including fresh flowers, leaves, dried wheat and a taper
candle. Register in person to pay the supply fee of $17. Attendees also are asked to bring a garden pruner to class.
