Class 4A

No. 15 St. Edward (5-4) at No. 2 Harvard (9-0)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

About the Green Wave: RB Davontae Elam leads St. Edward with 1,382 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns. RB-DB Mikey Castoro, the Wave’s top receiver and second-leading rusher, suffered a torn ACL last week and is out. QB Joe Mullen has thrown for 736 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions.

About the Hornets: Harvard finished its first unbeaten regular season since 1988. RB Christian Kramer leads the Hornets with 881 yards rushing and had his career-best 244 yards with three touchdowns last week in a 21-0 victory over Richmond-Burton. QB Peyton Schneider has thrown for 765 yards, and WR Justin Nolen had 39 receptions for 557 yards.

Who’s next: The winner advances to meet the winner between No. 10 Aurora Central Catholic (6-3) vs. No. 7 Chicago King (7-2).

Class 5A

No. 9 Marian Central (7-2) at No. 8 Bremen (8-1)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

About the Hurricanes: Marian QB BIlly Bahl has thrown for an area-best 2,285 yards with 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions. RB Ephraim Lee has 987 yards rushing, and WR Brett Olson has 43 catches for 898 yards and 12 touchdowns.

About the Braves: Bremen, of Midlothian, won the South Suburban Conference Blue Division. QB Tyler Banovich has rushed for 506 yards and thrown for 1,411 yards with 14 touchdowns and six interceptions. RB Drequan Ross-Brown leads the Braves with 652 yards rushing, and WR Ron Sims has 22 catches for 402 yards.

No. 12 Hampshire (6-3) at No. 5 Kaneland (8-1)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

About the Whip-Purs: RB Nick Kielbasa leads the area with 1,189 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns. WR Tim Jansen has been a big-play threat with 30 receptions for 636 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Whips are back in the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

About the Knights: Kaneland’s only loss came against Sycamore, 31-21, in Week 8. QB Drew David has thrown for 2,406 yards and 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions. WR Quinn Buschabacher has 45 receptions for 890 yards and 13 touchdowns, and WR Sean Carter has 35 catches for 649 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Who’s next: The winner advances to meet the winner between No. 13 Chicago Urban Prep Charter/Englewood (6-3) at No. 4 Joliet Catholic Academy (8-1).

Class 6A

No. 13 Prairie Ridge (5-4) at No. 4 Lakes (8-1)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

About the Wolves: Prairie Ridge’s offense has been on fire with 1,486 yards, 156 points and 22 touchdowns in its last three games, all of which the Wolves had to win to qualify for the playoffs. QB Brett Covalt has 692 yards rushing to lead the Wolves. FB Zack Greenberg has 625 rushing yards, and RB Brent Anderson has 583.

About the Eagles: QB T.J. Edwards, who will play linebacker or safety, missed the past two games and coach Luke Mertens said Edwards will not play QB this week. RB Cameron Johnson, Lakes’ leading rusher with 747 yards, also has missed the past two games with an injury and may not play.

Who’s next: The winner advances to meet the winner between No. 12 Fenton (6-3) at No. 5 Marmion (7-2).

Class 7A

No. 11 Conant (6-3) at No. 6 Jacobs (7-2)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

About the Cougars: QB Danny Modelski, son of coach Bill Modelski, has thrown for 2,010 yards and 24 touchdowns with only four interceptions. The Cougars have five players with more than 18 receptions, led by Bryson Brown (34 catches, 531 yards). LB Mike Kos leads the Cougars with 84 tackles, and DL Tyler LaBarbera has seven sacks. Conant lost to Barrington, 32-20, and Jacobs lost to Barrington, 22-15.

About the Golden Eagles: Jacobs has won seven consecutive games and won the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division title, its first FVC championship since 1979. QB Bret Mooney has thrown for 1,652 yards and 17 touchdowns and rushed for 558. RB Josh Walker is third in the area with 913 rushing yards.

Who’s next: The winner advances to meet the winner between No. 14 Harlem (6-3) at No. 3 Glenbard West (8-1).

Class 8A

No. 13 Dundee-Crown (6-3) at No. 4 Oak Park-River Forest (8-1)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

About the Chargers: D-C had its best season in 19 years and is in the playoffs for the first time since 1994. The Chargers are led by RB Caleb Parson with 742 rushing yards. RB T.J. Moss has 487 yards rushing. The defense held opponents to 14 or fewer points five times.

About the Huskies: Oak Park-River Forest’s only loss came against Glenbard West, 20-14, in Week 6. The Huskies finished second to Glenbard West in the West Suburban Conference Silver Division.

Who’s next: The winner advances to meet the winner between No. 12 Niles West (6-3) at No. 5 Maine South (7-2).
