McConnaughay to host senior fair in Huntley

HUNTLEY – State Sen. Karen McConnaughay will host a senior health fair Nov. 14 aimed at helping to educate seniors in the 33rd District on a variety of health issues as well as providing them with information on senior-related topics.

The fair will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Huntley Park District Building, 12015 Mill St. 

Free health screenings include non-fasting glucose screenings, hearing tests, blood pressure, osteoporosis and more. Seniors also can get their annual flu shot at no cost to those with Medicare Part B and $25.99 to those without.

Legislative brochures will be available explaining state programs available to seniors. 

Information on assisted living, Internet safety, avoiding scams, financial security, hospice, Alzheimer’s disease, nutrition, hearing loss, I-Cash and veterans assistance will be available.
