Knaack awards first student scholarship

CRYSTAL LAKE – Knaack, in the jobsite storage equipment business, announced Joie Collins Jr., a student of McHenry County College, won the company’s Student Scholarship Program.

The goal of the program is to encourage manufacturing careers and recognize students who excel in the manufacturing and technology field of study.

As part of the scholarship program, Collins was invited to Knaack headquarters for a tour of the manufacturing plant and a special lunch.

The 2013 Knaack Scholarship Program provides up to $2,000 over a period of four semesters for each winning student. It is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to support the city’s future and current manufacturing trade professionals as they develop and hone their skills.

Scholarship winners are selected based on educational and career goals, as well as financial need for the assistance. The winner is selected by the Friends of MCC Foundation Scholarship Review Committee.
