PINCKNEYVILLE – A stretch of highway in southern Illinois will be named after a veteran killed in a blast in Iraq.

The honor will go to Pfc. Wyatt D. Eisenhauer, who died when an improvised explosive device detonated in 2005. The Southern Illinoisan reports (http://bit.ly/1i8lAwR) his parents were presented Thursday with a smaller version of a sign that will label the highway. The sign will mark a section of Illinois Route 127 as the "Pfc. Wyatt D. Eisenhauer Memorial Highway."

Eisenhauer's mother, Gay Eisenhauer, says she's happy that service members like her son are being remembered.
