Wind chill advisory issued for McHenry County tonight

Bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills are expected to cover north central and northeast Illinois, including McHenry County, by Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind chills are expected to drop below zero Sunday night, according to the forecast. The advisory predicts temperatures from zero to 13 degrees below zero, along with northwest winds at between 10 and 15 mph Sunday easing to five to 10 mph Monday morning.

The wind chill advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Sunday to noon Monday.
