BROOKPORT – Two people in Massac County in southern Illinois have been arrested after sheriff’s deputies spotted drug-making equipment in the front yard of a house where they were staying.

The (Carbondale) Southern Illinoisan reported that 36-year-old Kristy G. Morrow and 18-year-old Matthew D. Skinner were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and are scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

Massac County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Kaylor said deputies went to the house just outside Brookport on Tuesday after receiving a tip that a methamphetamine lab was there.

He said some drug-making equipment had fallen from a trash can in the front yard. He said they later found other equipment used to make the drug behind the house, including cooking bottles, rubber tubing and drain cleaner.
