Roundup: Marian Central boys fall to Harlem

The Marian Central boys basketball team lost a fourth-quarter lead Wednesday in its 52-51 nonconference loss to Harlem in Woodstock.

The Hurricanes (8-8) went into the fourth quarter with a 43-40 lead before being outscored 12-8.

Matthew Ricchiuto led Marian with 12 points. Adam Pischke and Wyatt Lindell each added nine. 

Grayslake North 73, Johnsburg 70: At Johnsburg, the Skyhawks (2-13, 0-2) fell in Fox Valley Conference Fox Division play. Aidan Einloth led Grayslake North (4-7, 2-1) with a career-high 24, which included seven 3-pointers.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Rockford Lutheran 59, Johnsburg 36: At Rockford, Jazza Johns led the Skyhawks (7-11) with 12 points in the nonconference loss. Cortland Sommerfeldt, Maycee Ward and Katie Poczkalski each added five points. 

Prairie Ridge 65, Dundee-Crown 41: At Crystal Lake, the Wolves led the whole way in the FVC Valley Division win. Maddie Drain led the Wolves (10-6, 4-1) with 16 points and Kirsten Voel-Pel added 13. 

Cary-Grove 32. Jacobs 23: At Cary, Katie Barker scored nine points to lead the Trojans (12-6, 3-2) to the FVC Valley win. C-G allowed four points in the first half. Sarah Kendeigh added seven points.

The Golden Eagles (3-14, 1-3) mounted a second-half comeback led by Tiffany Frighetto's eight points. Nicole Cook added six. 

Huntley 62, McHenry 35: At McHenry, the Red Raiders (14-3, 4-0) won in FVC Valley play. Sam Andrews led the way with 21 points, including five 3-pointers. Ali Andrews scored 17 points and Bethany Zornow added 13. 

Gabby Schweitzer led the Warriors (7-11, 0-3) with 10 points and Sawyer Lay added eight.

Hampshire 46, Woodstock 43: At Woodstock, the Whip-Purs (7-8, 2-3) won in FVC Fox play. Tricia Dumoulin led the team with 15 points and Emma Benoit added 10.

The Blue Streaks (6-8, 1-3) were held to nine points in the first half. Cody Brand led the Streaks with 12 points and Selena Juarez added eight. 

BOYS BOWLING

Marengo 3,116, Huntley 3,076: At Bowl Hi Lanes in Huntley, Jake Barton bowled a 754 series to lead the Indians to victory. Barton bowled a single-game high score of 289. Jake Johnston was second on the team with a 713 series. 

The Red Raiders were led by Grant Gardner's 749 series and his single-game team-high score of 278. Brad Szekeres was second on the team with a 594 series. 

Woodstock co-op 2,474, St. Edward 2,012: At Wayne's Lanes in Woodstock, Greg Rowan led Woodstock co-op with a 546 series, including a high game of 211. Zach Myers added a 537 series.
